Christy went out of town for about four days once, and for whatever reason, I woke up each of those days at about 3 am with another chunk of this piece almost fully formed in my head—so that I just stumbled over to grab the guitar off the wall, turned the recorder on, and then played the new section—and then fell back asleep.
